The recovery of domestic oil refineries is the number one issue for the government, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said when visiting Kharkiv region on Friday.
() - "For us the launch of our oil refining sector is the task number one. Now 5 of 7 our plants stand idle, and the other two do not work at full capacity," the head of government noted. According to him, this is due to the fact that the Russian Federation has set an extremely high export duty, which, together with the high price of oil at current fuel prices in Ukraine makes the work of domestic refineries unprofitable. The prime minister said that the Ukrainian oil refineries can not compete with the foreign ones, as they need reconstruction and modernization.
